The College of Law organized an awareness workshop entitled “Women’s Empowerment and Their Role in Community Development,” delivered by Assistant Lecturer Ghufran Hani Elias, Head of the Psychological Counseling Unit, amidst a distinguished attendance of college faculty and students interested in legal and developmental affairs.
The workshop commenced by clarifying the comprehensive concept of women’s empowerment and its multiple dimensions, which encompass legal, economic, and social aspects, while demonstrating the significant positive impact that reflects on family stability and community building when this empowerment is activated.
The lecture also focused on the legislative frameworks, laws, and charters that guarantee women’s rights, emphasizing the importance of enhancing their status in leadership and decision-making positions as active and influential elements in achieving sustainable development and facing current challenges.
The workshop witnessed wide interaction from the attendees, who enriched the discussions with their interventions and questions. In conclusion, the workshop yielded a set of vital recommendations, which focused on the necessity of intensifying legal and social awareness of women’s rights, and supporting empowerment initiatives across various sectors to build a balanced society based on equal opportunities.
