Under the patronage of the President of Al-Hamdaniya University, Professor Dr. Nashat Mubarak Saliwa, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Law, the Women’s Affairs Unit, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit at our college, organized today, Wednesday, March 11, 2026, a specialized scientific symposium titled “Introduction to UN Resolution 1325 and Mechanisms for Achieving Its Objectives.”
This symposium is part of a series of scientific activities aimed at implementing the components of the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security (2025-2030). The session featured a scientific dialogue presented by Assistant Lecturer Ari Dakheel Abdal, Head of the Scholarships and Public Relations Unit, and Ms. Shaima Qais Qasim, Head of the Quality Assurance and University Performance Division.
The symposium provided an analytical reading of the contents of UN Security Council Resolution 1325, focusing on the fundamental pillars of the Third National Action Plan and how to align them with the university and community environment. It also clarified the roles assigned to educational institutions in protecting women’s rights and enhancing their participation in building sustainable peace. Furthermore, the lecturers reviewed mechanisms for measuring performance and quality in implementing programs related to women’s empowerment and ensuring the integration of gender perspectives into the college’s strategic plans, amidst an active presence of faculty members and students who enriched the symposium with their scientific and legal interventions
