Promoting Quality Standards and Community Service: College of Law Hosts Awareness Seminar on Cyber-Extortion
Within the framework of its continuous efforts to achieve university environment quality standards and safeguard students from digital risks, and in coordination with the Quality Assurance Unit at the College of Law, University of Al-Hamdaniya, a specialized awareness seminar was organized under the title (Cyber-Extortion and its Impact on Youth).
On Sunday, January 18, 2026, at the University Theater, the seminar, moderated by Ms. Maryam Amer, aimed to raise the level of digital awareness within the university community. The lecturer, Lieutenant “Haneen Bahnam Jajjo,” reviewed strategic pillars that included:
Revealing modern cyber-extortion methods and its causes.
Analyzing the resulting effects on the individual and society, especially among youth and women.
Clarifying security mechanisms to limit these crimes and ways to secure personal accounts.
At the conclusion of the seminar, and in appreciation of the activity’s success in achieving its awareness and community goals, the Dean of the College of Law, Professor Dr. Anas Mahmoud Khalaf, presented certificates of appreciation to Lieutenant Haneen Bahnam and the administration of the Cultural House, emphasizing the importance of continuing these events that contribute to raising the college’s ranking within community service and sustainable development standards.
