The Quality Assurance and University Performance Division, in cooperation with the Continuous Education Unit at the Faculty of Law, organized a scientific workshop titled: “Education in the Face of Corruption: Methods of Redress and Building an Environment of Integrity.” The workshop was delivered by Assistant Lecturer Abdullah Saeed Khudair and witnessed a distinguished attendance of professors, lecturers, and a gathering of students interested in legal and educational affairs.

The workshop focused in its presentations on the pivotal and pioneering role played by educational and academic institutions as the first line of defense and the cornerstone in confronting the phenomenon of corruption in its various administrative and financial forms. The lecturer reviewed the root causes and negative impacts of this phenomenon on the social and institutional structure, as well as its direct effect on hindering the wheel of sustainable development.

It also highlighted the critical importance of developing school and university curricula and integrating concepts of integrity, transparency, and good citizenship into them. This contributes to instilling moral values and self-regulation among students, and preparing them cognitively and behaviorally to reject illegal practices in their future professional and social lives.

The workshop presented an integrated legal and educational vision for treatment methods and mechanisms for building an upright institutional environment that relies on activating good governance frameworks and absolute transparency, while emphasizing the need to open continuous communication channels between educational institutions and regulatory authorities to intensify awareness workshops.

In conclusion, the event witnessed extensive discussions and valuable interventions from the attendees, which enriched the topic with sound legal opinions. Meanwhile, the Deanship of the College expressed its thanks and appreciation to the lecturer and the organizing bodies, reaffirming the college’s permanent commitment to adopting national issues that touch the reality of society and striving diligently to reform and develop it.
